Oslo-based LTTE leader threatened to kill Me

Jaffna District Secretary in Srilanka Emelda Sukumar said she was happy and relieved over the arrest of Oslo-based LTTE leader Nediyawan who had threatened her with death until very recently. She said Nediyawan had been threatening her from Norway by e mail to resign from her post and not to support the government.

Mrs. Sukumar said he even threatened to kill her and her family. “I lived under severe stress due to these threatening messages,” she said. She had served eight years as the Government Agent of Mullaitivu during the LTTE controlled period.  Even then she had been forced to resign by Nediyawan on the orders of the LTTE leader. She also said the appreciation of her duties by the people and the government during the past 13 years in the district was a great strength for her future.
